So...exactly what is this all about?
Inspired by the work of Spalding Gray and Eckhart Tolle, What’s It Like To Be You? is an entertaining and enlightening theatrical experience where the interview guests are chosen from the audience by Emmy-winning TV host Ben Hollis (PBS’ Wild Chicago, UPN’s Ben Loves Chicago) to talk about the subject they know best...themselves! (See the video.)
In each fifteen minute interview Ben and his guest (or accomplice!) create a fascinating piece of theatre ranging from the uproariously funny to the queasy sensation of eavesdropping on a therapy session.
How it works... Each evening Ben interviews 5 or 6 volunteers whom he has met just before the show. NO ONE IS INTERVIEWED UNLESS HE OR SHE WANTS TO BE INTERVIEWED. (Aren’t you relieved?)
What follows is the unfolding of real life stories, completely unrehearsed. From politics to extraterrestrials to marital aids to stealing on the job, these wild conversations are freewheeling to be sure. Guided by Ben’s quirky humor and intuitive mastery of what to do with any given moment, What’s It Like To Be You? is a revelation.
